Our Sagres surf rentals quiver runs to more than 50 boards — shortboards, fish, mid-lengths, longboards and soft-tops — across the brands and volumes that actually work on the waves here. Whatever your level, and whatever the forecast does that morning, there’s a board in the rack for it.

Tell us your level and your weight, and we match the board to you and to the day’s conditions — not to whatever is left on the shelf. Stepping down from a soft-top to your first hard board, or moving up in performance as the week goes on? Swap boards during your rental at no extra cost. The same coaches who read the swell for our surf lessons pick the boards, so you paddle out on something that suits Tonel on a clean morning or Mareta when it’s small and forgiving.

Wetsuits and what’s included
Every board goes out with a leash and the right fins fitted. Wetsuit rental is available alongside — full suits in the thicknesses Sagres needs through the year, from summer steamers to winter 4/3s. Wet suits dry outside; dry boards and suits stay in the shop, so what you collect is ready to surf.

Built for the Sagres beaches
Sagres sits at the south-west tip of Portugal, where the west and south coasts meet — so there’s almost always a sheltered option. Beliche and Tonel pick up the Atlantic swell; Mareta and Martinhal stay calmer for beginners; Zavial and the east-facing beaches come alive on a bigger swell. We rent with all of them in mind and point you to the one working on the day.

Collection and booking
Pick up your rental at the Wavesensations Surf Shop on Rua Comandante Matoso, in the centre of Sagres, or arrange boards together with your stay at the Surf House.
